I am looking to buy a smoker (not a grill – I already have one of those). I do not want a charcoal because despite the excellent taste, I have been warned off by friends that have them due to the extra work of trying to regulate the temperature during cooking. I am leaning toward electric as I am not aware of any benefit that gas offers other maybe than portability (i.e. I could take the smoker and the propane tank with me if I wanted to) plus I would never have to be concerned with the tank running out midway through the process.
I wanted to see if any gas or electric owners out there had any input. Which do you have…are you happy…which would you get if you were going to buy one again?

I have had both. I am on my 2nd electric smoker. They are just tooooo easy. Gas is too difficult to fool with.
P.S……I have a Brinkman. I paid about $40 for it. I have been using the same one now for over 10 years. I smoke pork roasts, ribs, chops, chicken, turkey, sausage, even burgers. I throw a piece of pecan limb in for real smoke.

theres a bagel place i used to go to that has KILLER chili pepper cream cheese spread.. I’m curious if anyone knows how to make it or knows where I could get the recipe?
Ingredients
6 cayenne peppers
2 large jalapeno peppers, chopped
3 large Roma tomatoes, chopped
2 teaspoons fresh scallions
4 ounces chunky pineapple
4 tablespoons Italian dressing
16 oz cream cheese
Directions
Add all ingredients to a food processor or blender
Mix and pulse 3 or 4 times until salsa is still nice and chunky
add to 16 oz cream cheese and mix well.

about 2 weeks ago the aircon on my 02 plate s80 started to make a high pitched noise like an old fridge which was audible inside the car i switched it off and forgot about it but when i switched it on today no noise but no cold air. One of the boys at work had a quick look at it and has told me he thinks it is the condenser radiator as he put a gauge on it and there is no gas in it can this be fixed or do i need to buy a new radiator. On the plate it says that there is a green leak indicator in the fluid but i can not see any evidence of a leak although i have not removed the radiator yet as it looks as if you need to take the front of the car to bits, lights,grille etc and i dont know how big a job that will be. I was looking at halfords web page and you can buy cans of leak stop and gas but im not sure about them will they cause more harm than good? do they work? or do i buy a new radiator without knowing if that is the problem, is this a common fault?
first thing you need to do is get the system checked for leaks and then if your condenser is leaking get it replaced this is not a job for an amateur.the reason you cannot see if it has leaked by looking for the green fluid is because it has probably leaked out very slowly.A friend of mine does air-con repairs for a living and he recommends using air con in the winter as well as the summer as this helps keep the seals from drying out and the system in better working order generally.He advises getting a professional to take a look and to give you a quote to put it right.
