How is the filament inside of a light bulb connected to the exterior of the light bulb?
How is the filament inside of a light bulb connected to the exterior of the light bulb?
Why can’t one side of the filament be attached to one side of the thread and the other side of the filament be attached to the other side of the thread?
The threaded part of a light bulb is all metal. One end of the filament connects to the thread, while the other connects to a metal button on the very end of the bulb. If you screw a bulb in with a lamp that’s on, the light won’t turn on until the bulb is deep enough to the button to touch the lead at the bottom of the socket.
